Book club recap February 2010
roll call:
Hostess with the mostess: Gina
Attendees: Cindy, Deanna, Gina, Kathy, Liliana, Nancy, Veronica
Absent this month:
Joanna - Where was Joanna? WHERE?
Lauren - Second month in a row. Just sayin.
Maura - Hey. Also second month in a row. Something about other obligations. Questionable.
Welcome to Deanna. This was not only her visit bookclub BUT she was the first to show up AND she read the book.
We were most impressed that 6 out of 7 attendees read the book. Not quite as impressive if you consider the book is 176 pages. So we didn't consider that.

Book club recap January 2010
roll call:
Hostess with the mostess: Veronica
Attendees: Cindy, Joanna, Kathy, Liliana
Absent this month:
Gina - knee surgery. where is this woman's dedication?
Lauren - something about "working"??
Maura - She loves us enough to stay home - per Maura: "I came down with a narsty case of the food poisoning in my belly and it hasn't quite left yet. I can't be too far from a toilet and a spare pair of underwear. It's good times and not at all humiliating. Did I mention that I broke my plumbing? Yes!!"
Nancy - work. hmmph.
We read?
The Book: A Confederacy of Dunces
recap:
We drank too much red wine and not very much water.
Ate just enough.
Talked about our favorite movies of '09
Kathy had a dandy time taking her fam over to babysit her nephew
Only one person asked "what was the name of the book we were supposed to read?" (Joanna)
No one finished the book. (Maura and Nancy had read and finished it years ago.)
Cindy won the most pages read and made it halfway before giving up on the characters that she didn't like.
Veronica said something like "I think I'll end up liking it" which indicates that she believes she will finish it. But what about February's book? I say move on.
We were told of Maura's terrifying pass out and puke in the car incident. (scary)
Cindy made the announcement that she and husband decided they are officially not having children. (book club is the place for major life announcements you know.)
Liliana isn't getting a raise. But she is getting a bonus.
Kathy may take Jack to Cambodia (CAMBODIA!) to visit Mao. Who is sort of hot. But only 16. And, hi, Cambodian.
Cindy told all about her wacky new holistic doctor and the crazy things he's telling her to do.
Cooper is not imaginary
Veronica has one very promising potential online date and another that Cindy think sounds a little too structured and controlling.
Liliana needs to pick a date for her hubby's birthday party
Easter is the 4th. And it doesn't matter.
Kathy never needs to go to Korea. Ever. Again.
Kathy had a really cool bracelet that she has in two colors. We all continue to be in awe of her.
Cindy is a joy to manage. (her boss says so.)
Cindy cannot stand the fucking Sundays. And Veronica has some band in her iTunes that sounds a whole lot like the Sundays. She was kind enough to skip through that song. Cindy felt loved.
A year and half ago Joanna was shopping for heels and now she's shopping for colleges.
Kathy "heard a story, it was on the Ryan Seacrest show so it must be true."
Veronica gets the best gift baskets in the world with the tastiest treats. And we all benefit from it.
The aftermath.
A slight hangover.
Next!
Gina is up. See you in February.
